Portland favorite Assemblage 23 returning with Espermachine!

Assemblage 23 2012 Missionary Promotions

On June 1st Tom Shear began shipping out preorders for Assemblage 23’s finest work to date, the full length release “Bruise”. Bruise is the A23 album that truly shows what this man is capable of.

One thing I’ve come to appreciate about the last few Assemblage albums is Tom’s genuine connection with his audience. Assemblage 23 again connects our desire to dance AND think.

September 30th at the Fez Ballroom is our time to dance.

Paul Seegers, whom we all know and love, will be pressing the keys once again and this year, on live percussion, will be a man who is no stranger to the beat. Casey Baldwin of Sebastian Komor’s “Komor Kommando!” Just put Mr. Shear on the mic and we’ve got a bloody awesome show.

The 2012 Bruise Tour brings with it Espermachine.  They’ve poked at a Portland show before but I’m really happy that this tour will be their introduction to us.  The timing couldn’t be better as Espermachine has just released their first full length album “Dying Life” on Tom’s own label 23db Records.

Assemblage 23, always a fantastic show, always a Portland favorite.

Here is how you can secure some tickets.  The much preferred method is to purchase directly from your promoters by using the Paypal option below.  Select quantity, hit the pay button and VERY IMPORTANT…you must add the first and last names of each ticketholder.  You do this by adding a “note to seller”.  Got it?

2nd option is to buy directly from Derek of Corrosion Records, DJ Ghouluantic, Shadowplay, etc. Chase him down and you’ll get physical ticket.  That can be cool when you’re trying to impress someone.  Hey baby look what I just got us by tackling this man…..shaa-wing!

3rd-Buy them in person at the wonderful Wells and Verne establishment.

buy from Ticketswest

4th. would be to purchase from or any ticketswest outlet.  Yep the biggest handling fees but might be the easiest for those who couldn’t figure out one the first 2 options.  No worries, we won’t tell anyone.

September 30th at The Fez Ballroom, 316 SW 11th, Portland, OR 97214.  Doors at 8:00pm, must be 21+ with ID because liquor will be served! $20 at the door (day of show) $15 advance purchase.

When kick-ass pulled kick-ass out of it’s pocket….Slick Idiot is coming to PDX

Slick Idiot, Missionary Promotions.

This act just absolutely rocks!  You know exactly what I’m talking about if you caught them the last time they were in Portland.  The show pushed the envelope of what we used to call “kick-ass” shows.

For fans of the Ultra Heavy Beat it’s Slick Idiot, featuring En Esch and Guenter Schulz formerly of KMFDM and Pigface  plus Mona Mur with special guests, Portland’s own, Dead Animal Assembly Plant.  Rounding out the before, during and after are DJ’s Brian Backlash and Owen!

THERE ARE NO PRESALE TICKETS.  This event is first come, first serve AND is only $5 with 21+ ID so get here early.

The Razor Skyline with Soil and Eclipse, Sunday July 8th

The Razor Skyline, Missionary Promotions

COP International recording artists The Razor Skyline AND Soil & Eclipse will be making their first appearance ever in Portland on Sunday July 8th.  Both of these acts have long varied histories and are certainly not like any of the scene newcomers of late.

The Razor Skyline:  They’ve been labelled goth, industrial, aggro-goth, electro goth, all of the above and none of the above. Although the band itselfmay defy a label, their songs have been described by many adjectives – powerful, lush, emotional, dark.

To me that means I’ll be feeling fancy and cool at the same time.  If you are not familiar with either of these acts please check them out on their facebook pages.

The Razor SkylineSoil and EclipseAmong the Weeds

The event will be at the Fez Ballroom located at 316 SW 11th in Portland, Oregon 97205.  Doors will open at 8pm and the event is 21+.  Advance purchase tickets can be purchased from Corrosion Records, Wells and Verne, and Ticketswest outlets.

Portland favorite Assemblage 23 coming back with Espermachine!

Holy cow, if you’re here already, you are hardcore!  You should get a prize or something.  We’ll have ticketing options up shortly for the Assemblage 23 / Espermachine event and you’ll get your opportunity for early purchase.  No worries.

Missionary Promotions DJ Wednesday Benefit

One of our VMB family, DJ Wednesday who spun at the 10th anniversary VMB this year and who is a staple of the local Portland Gothic/Industrial scene, was just diagnosed with colon cancer. So please join us for a night of gothic/industrial music in a fantastic venue with DJ’s, live bands, and a really amazing raffle prize drawing with all sorts of donated goods and services from merchants within the community, which will also include 1 day of housecleaning from yours truly. 100% of all door sales and raffle money will go to DJ Wednesday.

Outta nowhere, Cause & Effect agrees to Portland date!

Presale ticket purchase information below.

Missionary Promotions presents Cause and Effect

Veteran electro-pop duo ‘Cause and Effect’ are coming to Portland on October 18th, in support of their new album ‘ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCT’ and new AA side single for the songs ‘HAPPY?’ and ‘HAPPINESS IS ALIEN.’ The upcoming single/remix EP entitled ‘THE HAPPINESS? EP’ is out September 20th, and features remixes of both tracks which are already making waves and being added in clubs and radio-mix shows across the US and the UK!

If you ever “clubbed” in the 90’s you’ll certainly remember Cause and Effect’s impact to the club scene with their early hit’s like ‘You Think You Know Her,’ ‘Another Minute, and ‘It’s Over Now.’ Or perhaps, their 2004 Billboard club hit “Into the light.”

Well, C&E are still going strong with a new album , a new single EP, and a new tour. ‘ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCT’ is the bands fifth studio album and continues the C&E tradition of combining thoughtful lyrics delivered with presence and positivity atop lush and often times danceable electronic soundscapes. They are most certainly one of Missionary’s favorite live performances and one of the most professional acts we’ve gotten to work with. So wild that we’re going to get to see them again!

(You can read the full C+E Bio here)

Joining C&E will be local favorites Dead When I Found Her from the label ArtOfFact Records…

And recently back from Japan, Lakeshore Driving!
