Veteran electro-pop duo ‘Cause and Effect’ are coming to Portland on October 18th, in support of their new album ‘ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCT’ and new AA side single for the songs ‘HAPPY?’ and ‘HAPPINESS IS ALIEN.’ The upcoming single/remix EP entitled ‘THE HAPPINESS? EP’ is out September 20th, and features remixes of both tracks which are already making waves and being added in clubs and radio-mix shows across the US and the UK!

If you ever “clubbed” in the 90′s you’ll certainly remember Cause and Effect’s impact to the club scene with their early hit’s like ‘You Think You Know Her,’ ‘Another Minute, and ‘It’s Over Now.’ Or perhaps, their 2004 Billboard club hit “Into the light.”

Well, C&E are still going strong with a new album , a new single EP, and a new tour. ‘ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCT’ is the bands fifth studio album and continues the C&E tradition of combining thoughtful lyrics delivered with presence and positivity atop lush and often times danceable electronic soundscapes. They are most certainly one of Missionary’s favorite live performances and one of the most professional acts we’ve gotten to work with. So wild that we’re going to get to see them again!

(You can read the full C+E Bio here)

Joining C&E will be local favorites Dead When I Found Her from the label ArtOfFact Records…http://dwifh.com/home/

And recently back from Japan, Lakeshore Driving! http://www.lakeshore-driving.com/

Presale is on for Assemblage 23 and Komor Kommando 08.24.2011 @ The Fez!

Imagine the pure talent and creativity of two of our scene’s masterminds sharing the same stage, on the same night! On August 24th Missionary Promotions and Corrosion Records presents Assemblage 23 and Komor Kommando at the Fez Ballroom.  Special guests tonight Remote Music’s Monody.

Near 500 days ago Tom Shear brought Assemblage 23 to the packed floor of the Fez Ballroom. This time Portland welcomes them back with none other than Sebastian Komor’s Komor Kommando!  I feel silly even noting this but Sebastian Komor’s name is written all over acts such as Icon of Coil, Zombie Girl, Bruderschaft, Squarehead and more.  This is going to get ridiculous.

Opening and the night and finishing with the A23/KK afterparty is DJ Encrypted (Virus, Ultragroove, Encrypted Promotions) There will not be a dull moment the entire night. Welcome to das oontz!

Doors open and drinks pour at 8pm on Wednesday night, August 24th. Arriving early maximizes the night. Get the party going with all your friends and maybe grab something to eat off the Fez’s menu.

Tickets? The Mesh, Iris, Devision show saw the first time Missionary had ever offered direct purchase ticket sales and it was huge success for everyone. We’ve decided to do this again. Presale tickets can be purchased via paypal by using the button below.  You are purchasing direct from Missionary Promotions(There will be a $1 service fee per ticket.  This is a significant savings against commercial ticket sellers we’ve used previously)

Missionary Promotions, Corrosion Records 5 yearThe Corrosion Records 5 year Anniversary Party has a pretty incredible lineup feat. CYLAB, NOISEBOX, CERVELLO ELETTRONICO and DEAD WHEN I FOUND HER.
From Derek M. of Corrosion Records…In march i will be celebrating the fact i have been able to barely keep open a store that sells goth/industrial music which is mostly an extinct concept in most of the US, so help celebrate this quite impossible thing by coming out to this awesome show with 4 extremely amazing bands!
Held at Portland’s Fez Ballroom, the party begins at 8pm on Tuesday March 8th 2011.  Advance tickets will be on sale soon. (Ticketswest)  You can buy tickets in person at Corrosion Records right now for $10.00.  Must be 21 or over to enter.  FEZ BALLROOM, 316 SW 11TH AVE, PORTLAND, OREGON 97205

After 6.5 years, we say goodnight to Dementia

Missionary Promotions, Dementia, PortlandI remember Bekka and I  visiting a couple of other clubs in Portland years back. I remember meeting Liz and Cedric for the first time at IC Mummy but it was Dementia alone that settled us in the Portland Scene. We always arrived terribly early, certain we’d taken over someone’s table and stayed for near 6 years.  Dementia has taken on many forms and been in many locations since its inception but it’s always been genuine and always from the heart.

Of course there is some sadness in saying goodbye. We’re not saying you’ll never see the name again but this exit really allows us to move forward with new ideas, some of which are already in play. It’s in voids like this that new nights and new talent emerges. Growth!

Dementia has been home to dj’s NoN, Carrion, Wrexx, Zufall, Valence, Nevermore, Medusa, Mohawk Adam, Encrypted, Monika.mhz, Missionary and many others. Thousands of hours of industrial dance music has been spun from its booth. Thousands!

Dementia began with the Dark Alice in Wonderland Ball and Read the rest of this entry »

August 2009: With “War On Error”, ROTERSAND deliver a first foretaste for the global resistance movement they are about to establish and spread with their groundbreaking electronic manifest “Random Is Resistance” in October 2009. It will be the most danceable resistance of all times.  September 2010: 13 months later, the artful Electro architects lift “Waiting To Be Born”, one of the most emotional songs on ”Random Is Resistance”, thereby adding more fuel to the fire of their heated campaign against uniform thinking and the global sellout of identity.

2010, Iris returns with “Blacklight”

Missionary Promotions, Iris, BlacklightMissionary Promotions, Iris, Closer to RealIris (Reagan Jones, Andrew Sega), easily hold the number one spot at Missionary.  You can imagine our excitement as their newest album “Blacklight” prepares for release on September 3rd, 2010.

To the absolute glee of their fans, on August 20th,  The band released the music video for the track “Closer to real” via their Facebook page.

There is no shortage of positive feedback for what is happening with these two.  Just moments before this release also comes a very limited and highly coveted single from the album called “Closer to Real”

The Houston Press writes:  “Closer Than Real” draws upon every darker impulse of the late ’90s and sews them up in a shroud of modern pop sensibilities. The end result is a song to wage the war of life to.

Closer to Real is currently the #1 bestseller at Poponaut (Germany)

Blacklight is #1 at A Different Drum and already moved in to the #3 spot at Music Non Stop (UK)

One comment left on a recent article stated “One of those rare bands who really don’t make a bad song.”  We couldn’t agree more!  Of course there are rumors of a tour and you can rest assured Iris is just as anxious to get back out here as we are to have them.  Their last visit here was with Seabound in March of 2008.  Previous to that was Missionary’s first show ever in Seattle (Fall of ’04)  They are very special to us.

If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on the single or make it to one of the few release parties, enjoy!  Until then press play one more time, September 3rd is right around the corner!
